wish drop

If I start a fic from scratch, best case has it taking seven months to finish, worst case has it languishing with half a thousand words in my fanfic folder.

If I start a fic from a prompt, I -- generally -- get it done.

Whether you're some lurker or a longtime flister or anything in between, it doesn't matter, if there's something you'd like me to write, go ahead and prompt it.

I can't say how long it'll take, or how long it'll be, but it will get done.

There are very few exceptions -- I will not write any sort of genderfuck, I have no funny bone or ability to write comedy, and there are a few pairings that I Do Not Ship (and a few I Do Not Like) and would not be able to write.

Hi there! I hope this doesn't seem to stalkery coming out of nowhere, but I just wandered over from one of your fills at the Free-For-All... and then I saw this post... and well, of COURSE I wasn't going to just scroll past and not PROMPT when you write such lovely, lovely words! \o/

Prompt: Arthur/Cobb. Cobb is territorial. Arthur doesn't mind. ^_^

Not stalkery in the slightest. If anything, I find it extremely flattering.

School is a bit busy for me at the moment, and I'm still tossing around ideas, but I'll get on it as soon as I can -- I haven't written nearly enough Arthur/Cobb.

YAY *happy bounce* There can never be enough Arthur/Cobb on the internet, and I might possibly have read the one you posted to someone else's journal for a challenge I'm not familiar with -- and it might possibly have been GORGEOUS (by "might possibly" I obviously mean "totally totally was"). I wasn't sure what the policy was for leaving feedback on comments at other people's journals (I know, I'm paranoid, sorry *sheepish grin*) - which is why I did not comment there to let you know, but. Seriously. Gorgeous.

I will live in an exuberant state of hope that the universe gives you the time you need. *excited bounce*

Hey!

I just thought that since it's been a while, that you might want an update.

What you have to understand is that I had put up the entry on a whim; I'm a fandom nobody, and I hadn't thought that anybody would ever want me to write something for them. When I got your request, I was utterly flabbergasted, and more flattered than you will ever know. Really, somebody saying "Hey, I want you to write this prompt for me" remains one of the most flattering comments I've gotten about my writing. So I vowed that I wouldn't start on anything until I had the perfect idea.

It took awhile to get that idea, but I got it back in March, and have been working on the story ever since. It's very dream-centric, and requires a lot of outlining, but when I get done with the story, I'm guessing it'll be in the realm of 30k. I'm not going to give an estimate of when it'll be done, since that way lies self-sabotage and I'm enjoying how much I'm loving the story so far, but know that I do genuinely think it's a good story, and that I do fully intend to finish it.

So yeah, I just wanted to let you know I haven't neglected or forgotten about your prompt, and a fill is on the way, it's just a lot longer than I was anticipating.

Holy cow, that is AMAZING. You have no idea how excited I am (or perhaps you do, you seem a perceptive sort). I am SO IMPRESSED and will happily wait however long the fic demands to take. \o/
